banner and poster

Hi all,

Sorry to bother but I haven't found anything in numerous searches. Tried the FAQ.

I need advice on how to create and upload a banner.

Banner:
First of all, i just made a banner and then downrezzed it from a 12mp raw file to a 19.5kb file which is the limit for banners.

Is there anyway to make it bigger, by hosting it elsewhere?
Where should i host it?

How do i make the banner link to my Questfest thread?

POSTER
I tried submitting the poster pic on facebook and submitting the link but DVXuser is not having it.

How do other people do all these things and make it look good?? I mean apart from the skill, not so downrezzed etc.

i don't really know what happened to the member upload center but i think there's a new picture album section that you can use underneath "community" if you want to host it on DVXuser.

I host my banners on my own server cause i like to be nifty and use transparent pngs, here's what the code should look like to make it LINK to your thread.

hope this helps. I pay about $7 a month for a ridiculous amount of space and transfer at hostmonster, really valuable to have, if not just to store stuff like this.

Hey Thanks Ben!

Yeah the DVXuser storage space doesnt allow pics bigger than 97kb, i guess for a banner that's still ok.

Isn't there a free picture hosting site that will allow this?

Also, how do i make the banner link to my thread?

I still use the "uploader"...I think they just got rid of the button? Once you're logged in, go here: http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/uploader.php

I think that will get you 10mb of space to work with...

i think i just figured it out...though im still not so happy with my banner.
Only learned how to use photoshop a few months ago!
it takes me so long to do anything in it

you are probably also going to get a friendly reminder here from a moderator that signature banners should be no more than 569x70.

And zaza ... seriously ... yours is huge too. :)

umm so eventhough it's not on the signature upload thingy, it still has to conform to those strict guidelines?? how does anyone get their banner to look so good!
