Footage from my first day with GH1, couple of weeks old. I wanted to share this footage much earlier but really didn't have time to upload it.

All other info on vimeo.

superb!!!! I think this is one of best gh1 footages till now, it could be the gh1 "reverie" , specially the 3:34- 3:50 part.

and you did this the first day...

It looks nice but the "jello" kills it. You need to steady the camera and hold that rig as tight as you can. You can't let the camera tilt forward and backwards because that creates the worst jello, especially with long lens. If you watch movies and TV series, 99% of them have the cameras totally stabilized.

Looks good!

I agree with doing more to hold the camera still, but that seems to be an issue with a lot of the stuff posted from this camera so far.

What really bothered me was the strength and amount of the vignette. It was distracting a lot of the time because it was like a spot light was shining on the middle of the frame. Vignettes should be more subtle. Just enough to focus the attention on the subject, and don't necessarily have to point us to the exact middle of the frame every time they're used. And certainly not necessary in every single shot.

This was really a rough shot/cut/cc but I'm glad most of you liked it. Hopefully I can upload better and less shakey footage soon. I have tons but I cannot upload any of it at the moment!

The effect looks like a hotspot on the sensor. Definitely subdue that a bit, b/c it looks like faulty optics----

AND I KNOW----3 things someone is gonna come on and say:

1. It was a quick and dirty throwdown, cc, etc. just a test.

2. He's experimenting w/ looks for a series.

3. REAL vignetting IS from faulty optics.

Content wise looks great, the escalator ride is cool, I love the half-glance back to cam at 3:05, and the rack that follows.

cheers mate- it looks great.
