Newbee: How to set hvx200A to 1080

Sorry to have taken your time. I got up this morning and reread through the manual you wrote that came with the camera -- again --and low and behold you covered that. I promise to be more thorough in the future. Now the only problem is... the $$$ for the P2 card!!! Thanks a million Barry and have a great 4th of July weekend!

I am having an issue with my HVX200a camera. I am trying to get out of 480i rec mode. I am looking at the record setup under the menu, it says I am in 1080i/60i which is in green lighting but in blue lighting is DVCPRO50 (blue means its not in DVCPRO50). I want out of this mode in the green lighting. I have tried and tried to get out of 480i (480i rec mode) on the recording setup menu but don't know what to do.

I want to shot my HVX200a in the best and highest quality mode I can use. I want full 1080 for example but I am clued to why in 1080/60i its in 480i rec mode? I am not on tape mode either, I am on P2.

Also I just put an external mic on, how do I apply external mic on the menu?

Mic settings are on the side of the camera, not in the menu. SD settings, while still visible, do not apply when cam is in any of the HD modes. Record a short clip to P2, plop it into your edit system, check properties -- if it is 480i, you my have another kind of problem.....

If you set your record format to 1080/60i, then it's in 1080/60i. The 480i rec mode is not active. It would only be active if you changed the rec format to 480.
