Hello,

I am right now doing a project in Iceland. It's raining sometimes and I should shoot under this conditions.

I have a Kata "rain cover" for my HPX171 and a Protector Filter for the Lens.

My questions is: the body of the camera is protected but the lens (the protector filter) is getting total wet when I am shooting. I would like to know is someone works under these conditions and if it is ok having the the protector filter for the lens getting rain.

Thanks in advance.

Im a little confused at what you mean by protector filter? Do you mean that you have like a screw on filter on the lens? If so then you should be okay in normal rain conditions. Just keep something handy to wipe it off. I found that those sham wow's work great on wet lenses. Make sure the camera body is dry but it is ok if your filter gets wet. Mine gets wet al lthe time and I just wipe it off.

Thanks and sorry for my bad English. I use this filter:

So, it is ok getting a little wet.

Yes its ok if it gets wet (not soaked cause then there is a chance you can get some water into the lens housing some way). There are plenty of tv shows that use things like that and they actually put crap on there lens sometimes for fun. For example, there is a tv show called Dirty Jobs and sometimes the host of the show takes hanfulls of mud/dirt/mush/whatever and throws it at the lens of the camera. All they do is clean off the filter.

If it does get dirty or wet I would suggest just cleaning it the best you can but not taking it off until you get somewhere where you can set the camera on the table and take the flter off cafrefully to make sure you dont get anything on the lens just to make sure nothing gets scratched etc.

So, it is ok to get water on that, still be careful not to though.
