Hi Everyone,

I have mentioned a couple of times that I was having a video done by DP Michael Caporale that would give advice on how to resolve the issue of skew when working with rolling shutters. Well it is finally finished and I have posted a copy on Vimeo. See it here: http://www.vimeo.com/5348383

It was shot in 1080/24PN AVC-Intra, edited in ProRes on an FCP system, and then recorded back to a P2 Mobile at 23.98.

Hope you find it helpful,

Jan

Thanks for the video, Jan. Technical limitations like rolling shutter shouldn't be a problem for a pro...in fact, I've found restrictions actually aid the creative process. I've been using the HPX300 in the field for several weeks and it's actually been quite the workhorse. I've even attached a DOF adapter to the stock Fujinon with a Zeiss prime for narrative short work (this is where the flip/mirror acquisition comes in handy) and it looks great, albeit with a bit of barrel distortion from the Fujinon. I'd like to try a nice, fast prime on there sometime.

Great camera, though! My 14 years in the professional video field is impressed.
