I'm buying an HPX170 soon, and I am going with the new Vinten Vision AS series tripod/head, but I cannot find any sites/forums discussing a 75mm bowl vs a 100mm bowl for the tripod.
Eventually I plan on mounting matteboxes/adapters/focus pulls, etc. but that's in the future. I want to make sure I buy smart though.
Can I be safe with all these accessories on a 75mm bowl? Because even going from the 3AS head to the 5AS vinten head, the bowl is still 75mm, even though the 5AS can hold like 10 lbs more.
Also, I see there are 75 to 100 adapters, but does this really help with extra weight?
