I am shooting extra scenes Thursday morning, so i can assure you all that i will be the last to upload - somewhere around Friday morning at 5am. No joke!

The confirmation page had a mysql error at the top, 'cause I guess it doesn't like the apostrophe in my last name (O'Brien). I hope that doesn't screw your script up. It did give me a confirmation of completed upload, though.

Hi Larry, I have a question:
I uploaded an NTSC 720x480 16:9 file, but my friend told me that it's "fake 16:9"
and that my movie may appear square or squished on certain computers.
If this is the case, i have a 640x360 VGA version ready to upload. Let me know
if I screwed up my H264 conversion.

I notice that my film is "Under Review" while everything around it has been accepted already. Is this something I should be concerned about?

That just means a mod has marked it for review and hasn't marked it approved/rejected. I believe in your specific case the mod thought they approved it, but the script didn't process it ... I'm checking with them now.

If there is an issue you will be notified and given a fair chance to rectify it.

If it get's rejected for any reason you will receive an e-mail at the address you supplied during your upload letting you know why and what you can do to resolve it

the number actually varies from about 30-80 (or more).

Herofest was a lot less, maybe 30, Hallows Fest was about 38 competing. Then of course, zombiefest and horrorfest were ridiculously high.

Chris Keaton hasn't been able to access the site since yesterday. He also mentioned that he is aware of 1 other user who is trying to upload a film but also can't access the site. Is there some tech issue going on? I haven't had any problems, but if lots of others are then that could account for the relatively low number of entrants.

Amazing how many 'regulars' didn't enter, no Zak, no Mark Harris, no Fat Monster, no JDS, no pia12254, no Norm Sanders, etc.

I recognize several of the entries but I'm amazed by how many I don't recognize, guess I'm feeling like an old-timer, fests change. I guess this place is becoming like a college where people come in and move on.

I'm still super psyched by several entries, can't wait for viewing!

I was also surprised by this. This is actually my *gasp* 7th Fest entry and Joe's 6th, I guess we are the resident "old" DVXusers at the ripe ages of 24 and 28.

Agreed it is like college, meaning you get out of these fests what you want.
This is my 4th, i skipped a few because i thought "why make another short when
I can make a feature length movie". I mean, I assume we all aspire to do that right?
But then i realized how hard it is to make a feature, and then i realized i hadn't made
ANYTHING in months, and then i realized Quest Fest would help me get my Mojo Back.

DEADLINES MAKE YOU WORK HARD. And we love these Dvxuser deadlines.

But others on this site (vets) maybe felt like it was time to step back and instead
concentrate on longer features?

All I know is Norm has been working on Berlin for a gazillion years and is too cool to
grace us with his presence. (JK)
