Is anyone of you using a monopod? I really donīt like carrying a tripod around, however it is very hard to keep the camera stable without. Any experiences with monopods or opinions appreciated. I was thinking to buy the manfrotto 560b

I have a Manfrotto 679B that I use with my D90 all the time. Don't leave home without it! It also doubles as a walking stick when I'm out in the woods. It works great for stills as well as video.

I also use a monopod sometimes. It's great for following fast action, mobility, and also for supporting the weight of the camera so your arms don't get tired.

Most of the time I do carry a tripod, but when extending 3 legs is not appropriate or just plain impossible, you can extend only one leg and use it like a monopod. It's clumsier than a real monopod, but it's better than nothing.
