hv20 Recognize problems

My computer does not recognize the hv20. I plug in the IEEE1394 I got from radio shack & nothing happens!

I downloaded the hot fix and I'm not sure what's going on & I have to capture footage from my hv20 tonight and upload a video interview.

Has anyone had the same problem? Know a fix?

Hv20 is set to camera mode.

Which operating system are you using? When you look at the device manager do you see an unrecognized device or not?

What did you to do to fix? Mind sharing?

I was wanting to say you need some software to perform the capture. HDVSplit is free to use. It captures the footage as .m2t files.

Changed the fire wire.
