I hooked up an external Carrion monitor via SDI and then component but I'm unable to get an image from the camera. Do I have to enable this feature within the menu somewhere on the camera or something?

In Menu go to AV IN/OUT SETUP and SDI OUT>YES

Yeah, that's already set that way by default. I saw that a little while ago. I'm still having no luck. Tried hooking up to multiple mopnitors but not getting any signal. ugh, this sucks.....

Try switching between 1080i and 480i in the CMPNT/SDI SEL submenu within the AV IN/OUT menu. Also, try a different cable.

set CMPNT/SDI SEL to AUTO. Could very well be the cable.

I usually monitor video using component, but today at work, I tried monitoring using the SDI connection to a non HD professional broadcast monitor. When I had the camera off, the screen was blank, as soon as I turned it on, there was static noise. Am I doing something wrong?

You probably need to set the camera to 480i in the CMPNT/SDI SEL submenu within the AV IN/OUT menu

Done that, same results. Do I need an HD monitor with SDI inputs? maybe I have a faulty SDI connection...

Your monitor must also have an SDI input if you're going out of your camera with SDI. It's a bnc input but maybe not SDI.

Did your monitor have a physical SDI input or what it composite? Snow indicates the monitor was connected via composite.

My 170 works perfectly with SDI or Component.

My HPX-500 will display SDI and Component at the same time.

Sneakle, the monitor has SDI inputs. Steve, I was getting component out and it worked fine, I tried SDI just for the heck of it and that's when I got the snow. Should I disconnect component when trying SDI? Thanks for your responses

I'm only getting static too. Anyone figure this out. I see that BNC and SDI are not the same. Any work-around?
