Hello, right now i'm waiting for the stork to deliver my gh1 in Paris, and i'm just killing time thinking about gear to come with...
I've already ordered a C mount adapter on eBay, and i've seen pics with those lens on the G1, but no video footage with the GH1
Most of the pics i've seen were in square format i think, would the vignette be worse with full sensor of video mode?
Do you have links to c mount footage, or happy owners of both, could you shoot some?

This is all I've found. Vignetting, but I like it.

Here is a switar 25mm f1.4

Image circle should be 18mm: there's vignetting and the corners are unacceptable.
It is important to use lenses with an image circle larger than 21-22mm

Gary, I know what you mean but I think that people should be going into the c-mount world realizing that it won't be your workhorse lens. These lenses will create a look and as far as I'm concerned the look in that vimeo link is GORGEOUS. I love it. And I can't wait to try my Zeiss 25mm 1.4 that covers 20mm. Should be nice and vignetting just like I want it.

thanks for the link gary, it's great but i agree corner vignetting is too strong.
but i don't understand why we talk about image coverage, and it shows blurry image rather than faded black (no light at all...) ??
and apart from looking at this http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p9kkgjwEQQQ-HJwvNDobeEw
is there a way to calculate the size of the image circle for a certain lens?
above 25mm focal should be ok?
ryan can i ask the price of your zeiss lens, any chance to find one?
Sorry for my bad english and the beginners questions in optics, i used to shoot with "camcorders" ;)

Oh my, if you only knew how many times I've been paid to add such vignetting in post on crisp clear 35mm footage.

zoom a little in post and vola... if you don't like the 'look' it's gone.
really depends on the lens though especially in the 25mm range... Some have great coverage others do not. A little post or use of the in camera 2x zoom factor will fix 99.9% of the coverage problems.
