Hi all-

I can't figure this one out. I powered up my HVX200a today and the P2 display in the VF was flashing white (the 1 and 2). I hit the "Menu" button and nothing happened. I tried to power off and the camera wouldn't shut down! The only way to shut the camera off was to disconnect the battery.

Everything works fine in the MiniDV side of the camera, but I'm completely stuck trying to use the camera in the P2 setting.

I've tried:

1) Resetting the camera via the pin hole
2) Reformatting my P2 card
3) Using an external power source to power the camera.

All had the same problem. My camera is "Off", but it's still on.

Please help!! I've got a shoot tomorrow.

Thanks in advance!

-Scott

I'm not sure.... but can you change it to another format?

Call the Panasonic Pro Video tech guys, and potentially send it in for servicing...

Scott,

I had this IDENTICAL problem in March. Unfortunately it required me sending it in to have a ribbon connector and a logic board replaced.

I shipped it in to Spec-Comm, who right now is the only outfit I feel comfortable sending my equipment in to. They are responsive on the phone, work to get it out fast, shipping is good, and they don't mess around. The follow through has been A+ always!

Mine went out before a shoot also, so I feel your pain.

Might as well look for rentals asap. But I would take away all power sources and let it sit for 2-3 hours and then try it with a fully charged battery

I am going through the same thing right now. Super Lame. It seems like once I take out the battery, let it sit, and power it back up, it works fine. Records fine, MCR mode plays clips back... weirdest thing ever. Travis, how much did something like that run you, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just trying to figure out what to expect when I call Spec-Comm. I have a shoot in the middle of July, did yours have a quick turnaround?
