180 degree shutter for 50fps in 25fps timeline?

Just to clarify, what is the best shutter speed to use for 720x50p footage that will be used in a 25fps timeline?

From what I understand, a 180 degree shutter is commonly used in film, so to emulate it for 25fps you use 1/50.

At 50fps, a 180 degree shutter would be 1/100, but what if you are intending to mostly use the footage within a 25fps timeline? Then every second frame would not be seen, so should I be using 1/50 instead?

it depends on the method you use to convert the 50p to 25p.
If your NLE is set to drop frames you should shoot at 1/50, and the frames kept will have a 180 degree look.
If your NLE is set to blend frames, shutter should be set to 1/100, when the informations from 2 frames is blended it gives the resulting frame a motion blur that looks like a 1/50 shutter. this second approach takes more processing time but can be a good alternative if you want to have the option of slowing down the footage. 1/100 shutter will look great if the footage is slowed down to 50% in a 25p footage. If you decide no to slow down the footage, you can still frame-blend and get a cinematic motion blur.
