Cannot see avatars or pictures

Hey there. Donna May here. I'm making a feature and joined the site a week ago or so. I'm learning the lay of the land. I cannot see my avatar or any pictures I've made links to in my blogs.

The pictures are linked to flickr which I've also never used before and this was my first try with that.

Does anyone know why I might not see these things?

With photobucket you can copy and paste the link here that's wrapped with tags. Something like [IMG]http//... or similar. Possibly you're using a different tag.

Avatars are always hit and miss with me.

Looking at the page code I see...
<img src="http://www.flickr.com/photos/dm10b/3633214482/" border="0" alt="" /><br />

It looks like you've linked to a folder instead of a picture. Normally a picture would have a name and a .jpg extension for example.
Do they provide links like that?

A link to a folder might use the URL address tags like this...
[*URL=http://www.flickr.com/photos/dm10b/3633214482/]MyPics[*/url]
without the stars resulting in this when posted...MyPics (http://www.flickr.com/photos/dm10b/3633214482/)


And 'sometimes', you can just right-click on your photo on the web page and select 'Copy'. Then come here to make a post and R-Click>Paste.
In this case it worked, sometimes not. Not sure how it all works.
