HVX-200 Audio Mic Input

I've got a question on the audio input for the HVX-200. Sometimes when I use lav mics the audio sounds overmodulated but the levels never go in the red. I have the inputs set right and everything on the side of the camera. Anyone have any answer on this one?

are they wireless? my g2's have sensitivity/level settings at both the transmitter and receiver - perhaps you are clipping at either of these?

I've had the problem with both wired and wireless mics....I've tried to adjust the sensitivity but it doesn't seem to help.

Try setting the input next to the XLR to line instead of mic. Then increase the output of your receiver. I have had the mic pres overload easily on my HVX without a pad.
