Hey guys, im figuring out all the great things this new camera (hpx170) can do. im new to many things..Im reading barry greens book and thats been great. I have a couple of questions though.
heres my setup...on location im offloading using the duel adapter to an external drive connected to a macbook pro. Then taking that home and putting on a iMac. both my Mac's are OSX systems. And im cutting in final cut studio 2.
-so far i've downloaded the p2 driver, p2 formatter, p2 store manager (not sure what to use it for), and p2CMS
-im basically really confused as to what ELSE i need to download from panasonic. I will be getting the p2 E series cards soon and I do believe i need to update my software, but does that mean i need to update my camera as well?
-HERE (https://eww.pavc.panasonic.co.jp/pro-av/support/cs/csregistp2m/ep2main/soft/upghpx170_e.htm)is a link to another question i had. Do i need to Download this as well? I tried dl'ing this onto my computer but had some issues. is this supposed to be put on my SD card?
-Basically, i want to ensure ive taken the proper steps to have my hpx170 up to date with firmware and software and make sure my MAC and FCP is running as effecient as possible.
-Lastly, I want to ensure that my camera itself and the SD card are up to date and how i can for the future keep up on that. I know that i should be keeping my eye out for updates etc.. but on the dl site there is just so much stuff!
