People are passing .mts files around but those of us with final cut pro can't log and transfer the .mts without the original card directory (my primary workflow.) I would like to do some more tests with raw footage but have been unable to find archived folders of complete card data (IE with an intact directory structure for a North American GH1, other than the stuffed animal footage. Does anyone have any or know where any is available for download? Is there a reason why there seems to be so little of it in the wild?

Thanks!

-Ben

To clarify, I am looking for the PRIVATE folder, zipped or rar'd to download. Anyone know where I can find some data like this or anyone with n NTSC gh1 wanna send me theirs?

its the Japanese version, but the US version should be exactly the same thing, only with english menus

Thanks. I have that one, I was wondering if there is anymore and if not then why the heck not don't a ton of people here use FCP and can't work with .MTS naked of their original directory structure?

I shot (very boring) stuff at a tradeshow in Montreal a few weeks ago:

I use Toast 10 - haven't clocked but it seems faster than FCPs Log&Transfer and one can pick any codec, not just AIC and ProRes. And Toast includes a video player that handles .mts files much better than VLC.

Ben needs the entire "PRIVATE" folder, untouched and complete with all bits and pices inside. Otherwise FCP wont see the files....

Unfortunately I have a PAL version otherwise Ben would already have one of my private folders :Drogar-SunGlass(DBG:Drogar-SunGlass(DBG

If you have it, try with Adobe media encoder

Duh, I got that, which is why I told about doing it with Toast that doesn't need the PRIVATE folder intact to do it's dirty deeds. Saves the time spent on making disc images of the card and makes it - obviously - easier to get loose .mts files from others.

Ditto and ditto.

It was only that single clip, but I seem to remember that Barry Green’s NAB footage was uploaded with the folder-structure intact.

You’ll probably have to dig through those epic, pre-subforum threads, or though Barry’s posts during that week, in order to find it though.

You actually don't need to make an image of the card, just copy the folder to the finder...faster.

Thanks for trade show stuff. Anyone got any 720p/60? I want to play with converting it to 24p.
