I'm looking into quite a few different monitors, and the big thing that has me stuck is : What format does the component out use on my HVX-200 at the different settings?
For instance when I'm at 720 24PN does the component output put out a 23.98, 24, or 60Hz signal?
Thanks in advance everyone.

ATSC 60 Hz. You also have a few options under Component Out Select -- can cross-convert some signals into other frame sizes -- 720 to 1080, etc. But not everything converts to everything else. You can't output SD signal as HD, for example.

Thanks, that might settle the deal for me on what Monitor I'm getting then...I'm thinking about getting the Marshall lcd70P. It seems to pack an amazing amount of features into a lightweight package and not horribly expensive deal.

OK, but keep in mind -- you can't output 1080 as 720, so unless the monitor does a conversion itself, you'll only be able to monitor 1080 as SD.

Yeah, the monitor I'm looking at is only 800x480 native, but it accepts anything from SD to 1080i(converting the signal onto the 800x480), as well as having the option to set a programmable button to 1:1 for some accurate focus.

Ah. Sorry; misread you. I thought you were saying it was a 720p LCD. :)

Yes you can, I do it when I shoot DV to tape. It doesn't stick all the time and usually reverts back to SD if you power off the camera, but if you switch to HD and then back to SD, eventually you get the component out showing in HD while you shoot in DV. I have my camera hooked up to a Marshall LCD, you can see a huge difference between SD and HD out of the component.
