Hey Guys, thank you in advance for your help in this matter. I just got my hpx170 last month and am still "toying" with it. I have not installed any drivers or softwares nor do i know of any i actually NEED. I was able to simple copy the contents from my hpx170 to my harddrive and then access it in Final Cut. I did this offload through my 1394 so i didnt take out my card. I just got my PCI slot adapter for the p2 so im curious if i was to use this method to offload what do i need to install?

I have also read people downloading new updates from panasonic for the hpx170 and/or p2 cards.

I just want to make sure i'm not missing out on anything and utilizing my camera to its fullest.

Finally, ive also read about scene file downloads...im a super newbie to this..how do i even start?!

-thanks for any help you guys can offer me. I really appreciate it

-mo

Glad to help.

But you've not identified anything about your hardware or Mac OS or QT or FCP configuration.

What "PCI slot adaptor for the p2" on what machine, etc?

Hey david (and everyone else), sorry for my lackluster lingo. What i meant was that originally i was offloading to my MAC straight from the camera via firewire but i now i want to use the Duel Adapter. So what i meant to say was Im looking to use PCMCIA to Expresscard. As far as my hardware...I'm going to offload onto a lacie external drive connected to my MACBOOK for on location and then transfer the contents over to my iMAC at home and edit on Final Cut Studio 2. Both of my Mac's are running OSX. Im just trying to see if theres any software i need or any upgrades i need to make. Again so far all ive done is use my HPX170 and simply offloaded the entire contents folder onto my iMAC and that worked fine. I'd like to know what i need to do if im taking out my P2 card now and using the duel adapter. Thank you greatly for your help.
