Has anyone here come across a DIY thread that teaches you how to make a helmet cam but facing you not a POV shot?
Example is the shot in Requiem for a dream when wayans was running fast? or the music video of Radio head?

Look up 'snorri cam' on Google for that.

Depending on how long the shot is, you can put the camera on a tripod, fold the legs up, tilt the camera & hold is at your waist. I've done this before when I needed a running head (and chest) shot. Works great, but the camera gets heavy. You flip the LCD screen so you can frame the shot properly.
Other than that, sounds like you might need a chest-cam, unless your subject is wearing a helmet. Tell us more about what you're trying to shoot?

Here's an example of what I am trying to achieve... keep in mind I would like it to have more flexibility - like changing angles, distance from subject etc...

If you don't mind you talent wearing a geeky looking helmet....I'd just get a long gooseneck (http://www.zzounds.com/item--MUP6580), a mounting flange for it (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/82466-REG/Atlas_AD_12B_AD_12B_Desk_Top_Mounting.html) and attach it to a helmet. Find the right camera & shoot away. Something like that...maybe???
