Does anyone know how to do a "Ken Burns" effect with video mainly with time lapse? I see it alot in Josh Burmans Level ! ski videos. Like a pan, tilt or zoom. Can I do the zoom in camera? I know of people using telescope tripod heads to do the pans and tilts but is it possible to do it in post? here is a link to a video with some examples.

In the first minute I saw a zoom during a time lapse. That can be done by taking a time lapse, then keyframing the size in your editing program; too large to start, regular size at the end. It crops the image a little, but gets the effect. If there's other parts of that video you're referring to I didn't see them, you'll have to say what the time codes are. That's too long to just find those.

how about the one at 2:54 where the mountains come out of the background.
that is sooooo sick!
i think that is two diferent shots the lower two thirds of the frame is one shot that was layered ontop of another timelapse of the peaks in the background. would like to know about that one.

No surprise, I have made time-lapsed dollies (in ans out) with a motion control especially designed for that purpose.
I think that it is not too dificult to make a mocon for the camera´s zoom ring.
