I have an HVX 200. As everyone knows, not good in low light. Anyone know if the GH1 would be a good backup, in order to get night shots with, and match it up with the HVX200 footage shot during the day?

Thanks

My initial testing with the GH1 shows me that it looks quite different to the HVX200 - a lot sharper and a lot cleaner.

That said, you could shoot at 720 and I think you could do a lot in post to make the footage match. As long as you are aware that you would have to work a bit at getting them to match up, then I think it's a good backup camera.

For what its worth, I have bought a GH1 as a second camera for my HMC150. My interntion, if Panasonic gets it to my dealer in time is to use it for special shots, like in car/reverse, I need it next week to mount on the mast of a 40 foot sailboat looking down. I believe from what I have read it will match well with the HMC150.

Brian... would love to get a full report and footage of that mast shot. I'm hoping it works out cause I could get the camera, lenses and such for about what I paid for the 150.

What type of lenses are people going to be using?
