These are the 4 I am looking at.

Canon VIXIA HF200 (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-VIXIA-Memory-Camcorder-Optical/dp/B001OI2Z2I/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1244076752&sr=1-2)

Canon VIXIA HF20 (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-VIXIA-Memory-Internal-Optical/dp/B001OI2YTC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1244077260&sr=1-1)

Canon VIXIA HF100 (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-HF100-Definition-Camcorder-Stabilized/dp/B00114162K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1244077293&sr=1-1)

Canon VIXIA HF10 (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-HF10-Definition-Camcorder-Stabilized/dp/B001144JQU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=photo&qid=1244077340&sr=1-1)

I heard that the HF 20 and HF 200 has more bells and whistles but it not good for low light shootingbut from this clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r2tVMwUJBuU), it appears to do just fine.

My iggest concern is that there will be some problems transferring the files to my computer. This is one review (http://newspaper-video.blogspot.com/2008/05/canon-vixia-hf10-hf100-review.html) that I read about the difficulties of AVCHD.

I also plan on investing in an external mic. The rode video mic looks good but the cannon mics are easy on the ears too.

Any recommendations?

Zoom H2 or Zoom H4 for a mic, i'm in the same dish. Considering a HF20/200 or going for the E0S-500D. Your right on all account's though. Don't forget the HF20 has a built in very shiny light.. i think it'd be good in low lighting.

With AVCHD, yeah that's probably right to. Heard lot's of people say that - but i think it's easily solvable, and is worth the minor trouble?
