Hi I'm looking to invest into a handcam or something similar to be a companian camera to my XH-A1. Basically to use as a stationary wide shot for events so only wanting to buy a basic camera, also something to use on holidays and such.

Looking for something like this:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0017PRQKO/ref=s9_simx_gw_s0_p23_i1?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=1GJ1HHHDQTKAWNEPRXWN&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467198433&pf_rd_i=468294

But need it to match up to the XH-A1's image as close as possible.

Trying to avoid Sony as well, as their file format isn' t compatiable with my editng software.

I would appreciate any help, cheers.

I have been using XH-A1 as the main cam and HV30 with Canon WD-H43 wide angle lens adapter as second cam. Also use an optical cable with the remote control to fake the LANC controller. Works very well.

HV30 is very capable. There is some tweak with the color output to get them right. But it can also be handled through NLE.

It works very well that way I added a second HV30 on steadicam. You can take a look at this video. All tripod shots are from XH-A1. All steadicam scenes are from HV30.

HOpe it helps.
