Only about 2 people we know of in the US have the GH1, Kholi and Hunter, and I am pretty sure they don't own the HMC 150. Japanese? I don't know. In any case, who needs to compare? Why? Most comparisons are made within the same category or with bigger sensor cameras like Kholi is going to do with the Red One. Otherwise there is no point.

no point? speak for yourself.

i need to know its low light ability. from what i've ascertained, so do many people.

if you did a search
gh1 performs a lot better in low light vs the EX1(low light only!)
ex1 is better in lowlight than the hmc150
ergo...
gh1 would be way better than hmc150 in lowlight

LOL!

That is very positive. Competition is working on our side...

i'll be interested in the hmc150/gh1 comparison as well. i recently bought an hmc150 and would like a B cam that is really good in low light with the added sexy of getting those shallow dof shots. of course the 5d markII would be ideal, but that is beyond my finances (so was the hmc150..oh well).

I think a lot of people will get the combo. I love the 150.. wouldn't sell it for anything, but the GH1 does seem to have a nice slot ready for itself in the arsenal.

I don't know how a small-chip camera could possibly compare to the GH1 in low light performance. We've already discussed this topic to death, I feel.

both the EX1 and the HMC150 have a non-removable lens.

is it better than the EX1 using the stock lens the GH1 comes with or is it just good in low light with an f1.2 lens?

We're talking about the stock lens, Bounce.
With f1.2 lens, low light go way beyond your imagination and show things only god could see so far.
I even heard rumors about the first spirit ever photographed, using the GH1 @f1.0 !

LoL..
you gotta ask phil bloom on that. but my guess is.. Yes. and a 1.2 lens on it would be awesome.

The kit lens at F4 is a let down for low light, but you get respectable performance out of the big sensor at ISO 800 and below.

With a fast lens, 1.2 or 1.8, the GH1 is simply awesome. ISO 1600 light sensitivity at ISO 100.
