Hi, I just received my Panny dvx100A and I have owned a canopus storm2 capture card for quite sometime. The Canopus storm card and the canopus editing software doesn't support 24 p. This isn't a major issue is it? Can i still capture with the storm card and it will capture 29.97 but then bring it into vegas and it will really edit in 24p. I read in another post that you capture 29.97 anywhere you capture but vegas pulls it down the right way. What is my test to be sure that I am actually editing in 24 p and it is actually "pulling it down" in vegas the correct way? I thought that I couldn't capture with my storm card and bought a firewire pci card. Now i'm thinking I don't even need that anymore. When you guys capture in vegas do you select capture in 24...or not specify a rate? I am quite confused on how to edit with this different format. Used to standard NTSC. Thanks for any help.

in other words....because of the fact that the camera can do a conversion so that you can play clips recorded at 24p...on a tv screen...that means that you can edit video that looks like 24p on any editor...that doesn't mean that you are actually editing 24p... what is a check that i can do to verify that i am editing in 24 p in vegas.

You should be able to capture your footage with any program and import it into vegas, however I am not sure if the Canapus codec is compatable with vegas. In vegas just set the new project preset to either NTSC DV 24p or NTSC DV 24p widescreen. From there you can just import your files into your media pool. On the bottom of the media pool it will tell you that the clip is 23.97 Progressive fps and that it is removing 2:3 or 2:3:3:2 pulldown, depending on your camera settings. From there you just edit like you normally do. Vegas is the easiest program to work with 24p footage.

can someone let me download even a short little clip that was filmed in 24p and captured in 29.97 so that I can see it say it is removing the pull down. I just want to see the difference. Only if it would be easy.

Thanks
