Export quality

I havent been very impressed with the quality of my exported vids. what specs should i have when rendering? it just looks all blocky when i export and i thought i was rendering best settings.

OK, but what do you want to do with it? That will make a difference. DVD? Sharing on the Web?

Use the MainConcept MPEG-2 for DVD Architect template at its default settings. It should give you a clean baseline image. Then, tweak (if you want) to taste.

I have the same problem.
1. I import the footage into Vegas
2. I do all my edits.
3. I export using MainConcept MPEG-2 for DVD Architect
4. I open it in architect were in the preview window it looks great.
5. I then burn it to DVD with liquidvideo or verbatim disk using my NEC duel layer or my Sony DVD rw dw-u12a drives

I don’t get a crisp picture. It is pixilated when I watch the dvd.

Any thoughts? :-/

Then the problem is with the burn, not the export from Vegas.

What's your bit rate?

A bit rate is a video setting. Look in the burn settings in DVD-Architect. Where is yours set?

My understanding is 8Mbps is good and 9.8 Mbps is max Bitrate for Dvd. But I was also told that if you set Bitrate at 9.8 Mbps there might be a problem playing the dvd in some players. Anyone knows if this is true?

My video is 4.503 bitrate. In Architect, do i go under FILE-optimize dvd and change the recompress to yes? Because when i did that it showed the bitrate to be 8.000
