I just got Vegas 5.0. yesterday. I got my DVX100A about 6months ago and I'm embarassed to say that all I've done is shoot random stuff just to get familiar with it. I'm so hungry to start learning how to edit I could scream.
Since I'm not a very savvy computer person I think it might be best to get some help to learn Vegas. Is there a 'best' DVD tutorial and is there a Vegas editing keyboard that would make my life easier as a learning tool. Thanks. Great site!

This is a link to the VASST website. These are the training DVD's. Hope it helps.

Thanks, It looks like what I need. Now I just need to find out if an editing keyboard exists for Vegas. I'll try the Sonic Foundry site.

They have one for Vegas 4, so I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

However, as you can change (as well as assign new) keyboard shortcuts in Vegas 5, a standard editing keyboard for Vegas 5 (should one ever be released) would be of little use to anyone who wants to customize their keyboard shortcuts.

Thanks again. It's all very helpful info for me.

Vegas 5 also hooks up to the Mackie Universal Controller.
Real-time flying faders, video track selection on the fly... this is a dream addition for any V5 editor!
