I just got my AG-DVX100 a few days ago and I am trying to capture some footage in 30p. I am experiencing a large amount of dropped frames. Can anybody forward me some basic settings for capturing 30p in Vegas.

Default settings should be fine. The problem is more likely in your hard drive or your firewire.
What are the specs on your hard drive?

You may want to try the following...
1) Make sure the camera is powered from the mains and not from the battery.
2) Turn off the previews (both audio and visual)
3) Defrag your hard drive.
