Alright, anyone got any?

I'm thinking an SD Camera mounted on the back that points at the GH-1 LCD. Hood over it to keep glare away.

Use the Eye-piece for framing, operating, etc. Or another LCD on the side and split the composite source.

Thoughts?

if you need video out for another person then you're not really doing a stealthy shoot. It's for environments that'll be locked down regardless. =D

And here's my first solution: http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQueri..._requestid=709 (http://www.kodak.com/eknec/PageQuerier.jhtml?pq-path=13063&pq-locale=en_US&_requestid=709)

Just picked it up from best buy. And it has LIVE HD Component (720) out, so not just during recording.

Aimed it at the screen, shifted the little macro and wide toggle on the side until it was in focus and YAYA

Live Video feed! It ain't the BEST but it WILL do. Now I just gotta figure out a way to mount it.

I was thinking that some kind of sealed tap on the lcd or evf should be the way to go. There is a stop motion forum, where a lot of these problems with non live view cameras and the need for video tapping SLRs has been beaten out: stopmotionanimation.com (http://www.stopmotionanimation.com)
I'm sure that there will be a solution there somewhere, probably along the lines of a webcam into the EVF.

Does the LCD cut out when your eye is against the EVF?

Interesting concept... sort of kills the easy to handle beauty of this little camera though!!

I'm wondering if an 'LCD loupe' like hoodman sells could help?

If it's the same as the G1 you have options... It will swap between the EVF and the LCD automatically (I found it very annoying) or you can set it manual. When it's in manual you toggle between the two with a button.

Is it possible to run the LCD and the EVF simultaneously?

Okay, so I guess the idea of tapping the EVF would only really work if you didn't need the LCD display during shooting?

It's one or the other. But that's okay. Because if you tap the LCD then you can just split the signal of whatever you're seeing.

So going for this live output optional extra, means you also get a free pocket cam!

Indeed. LoL. It's pretty cheap on Ebay, as well. Used ones anyway. I was thinking about ripping it apart and building something around it, but that's too much hassle.

Be better just to create something that'll mount behind the camera without disturbing operations

it takes "stunning HD video". you can throw away your GH1
