Just a short introduction for removing pulldown with pc3. Along the lines of "a picture says more than a thousand words":

http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/5593/pc1m.jpg (http://img34.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc1m.jpg)
http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/3419/pc2x.jpg (http://img34.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc2x.jpg)
http://img36.imageshack.us/img36/1668/pc3.jpg (http://img36.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc3.jpg)
http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/8653/pc4.jpg (http://img193.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc4.jpg)
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/5301/pc5.jpg (http://img195.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc5.jpg)
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/6203/pc6j.jpg (http://img30.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc6j.jpg)

Now choose your container + codec depending to your liking and change some settings. In this case I took qt/photo-jpeg:
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/4372/pc7.jpg (http://img30.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc7.jpg)
http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/93/pc8x.jpg (http://img30.imageshack.us/my.php?image=pc8x.jpg)

PC3 isnīt that what you call cheap, but itīs one of the best converter I ever used.

Really - in my case it works fine. No problems with importing .mts-files.

I can't decide if it's wiser to upgrade my old procoder2 or get the cineform intermediate converter...

Any opinions?

what version is that?

Itīs version 3.05. H264 + AVCHD are supported formats:
http://professional.grassvalley.com/products/procoder_3/. Maybe something went wrong at the installation? For those who wants something for free:

But I think "remove pulldown2 isnīt supported in this tool.

i tried using it like u said. for some reason the color gamma keeps shifting back and forth. it looks like the color temperature is constantly changing. did u ever run into that problem?

... did u ever run into that problem?

Thanks for pointing that out. Iīm not an expert in pulldown removal with pc3 (pal-land). I was just trying it out 2 or 3 times. But now, after you mentioned it, I actually notice a chroma shift. It seems to be that it occur every twelfth frame or so. Hmm..., I donīt know whatīs the reason right now. Perhaps someone else can give an answer. Iīll check out some other settings too.

Just rename .mts to .mpg and it'll work fine.

Actual state of affairs: I tried to get an answer concerning the slight color shift with the gh1-material after the pulldown removal. I wrote 2 requests: 1 at the "american grass valley/procoder forum":
No answer. And 1 at the german grass valley/procoder forum:
Several anwers, but no solution. Sad but true. - Maybe it only occurs at the gh1-footage? I donīt know. I have no other "24p=60i-material". Perhaps somone else is able to make such a test?

This looks a bit like this too;

can you giv it a try, this is $40 and seems better than pc3, how much is that?
