Hey guys.

Im looking to get a reasonably priced DOF adapter and i came across that Red Rock has surpluses of M2's selling at $325 a piece.

Im really considering purchasing it. Should i go for it?

If not, any others i should look into? Ive seen the JagXL, but eh :/

no way, that's a great deal.
you can't go wrong with that deal. a lot of diy adapters cost more then that.
I would like to pick one up if it's that price range. (if you don't mind can you tell me where you found that deal?)

I will also like to know where you found this deal! :Drogar-Evil(DBG):

$325 is only for the adapter body, by the time you add achromat, rail support and lens mount you're up to about $1000.

Yeah, redrock micro is a little unclear about not including the achromat with their "starting price". I had to cancel my Encore order with them because I didn't realize it until after I ordered.

what's your budget anyways? I'm in san diego and am wanting to get rid of a brevis with a bunch of lenses for a good deal.

Well i've got my rails, i just got a new 50mm nikkor lens, and i found a company that makes them for $120 but im a bit iffy on that front : /

But if you go to red rock micro's site, go to their store and search M2. Its under M2 adapter components.

I mean, you need the achromat and the lens mount to have a functioning adapter. The body itself only consists basically of the GG and the motor which is half of it, but the M2 custom achromat contributes a huge part to the image quality and without it you can't focus on the ground glass.

I know. But i think the other brand of achromat might make it look worse than if i was to go for the RR one :D
