Hello everyone,
first if anyone has info about date and price in france, please send, i cannot find any real info for my - always later than others - country.

Do you have any idea of what the battery life would be? with continuous shooting ?
in standby? thanks

second, what would be the workflow to output 25 PAL ? i never worked with 24fps nor 60i except the 30 fps from the markII and it was a pain (transcode through compressor)

Sorry if these were already asked...

In the UK, they're saying mid to late June, Switzerland is saying late May, I haven't seen any info for France so I don't really know.

Based on what's been posted here, I expect to shoot 720 50p and work in a 720 25p timeline but it's all speculation and guess work really until the European models start shipping.

Bon Journee

bonne journée vous aussi.

No, the European version won't do 24/60 at all apparently. Just 25/50. The specs are saying that it will shoot AVCHD 1080 25p in a 50i stream, AVCHD 720 50p + 720 30p m jpeg.

Sorry, no idea on the battery until it ships, but it's reportedly not too bad.

AVCHD 720 50p
PAL workflow should be fairly straight forward. Shoot 1080/25p/50i and drop on a 25p/50i timeline or shoot 720/50p and drop on a 25p timeline. It should play just fine in both cases. When you drop 50p on a 25p timeline it drops every other frame to make it 25p (PPro does anyway), or you can interpret the footage to 25fps to use all 50 frames and get slow motion.
