If I put MTS clips back onto the SDHC card can I then import using the Mainconcept transcoder?
If i try to do it off my computer it doesnt recognize it as a panasonic video.

You've got to have the entire folder structure together for the Panasonic transcoder to work.
General rule of thumb - don't pluck the .mts files out of their folder (meaning keep them all together under that PRIVATE folder) unless you want trouble or otherwise really know what you're doing.
I have a folder on my drive called _CARD_DUMPS, and I make new subfolders in there (00005, 00006, 00007) for each 'card dump'. Each of those has exactly one PRIVATE folder in it.
This is a great way to do it, because as far as most software is concerned, each of those is the original SD card mounted to my machine. Very few problems with this workflow.

thank you... I noticed that I can put them back on and it will work but i think I like your method better. It's always better to be safe than sorry especially with this kind of work!
