Some of you guys may see this on the rr forums but I'm posting it here as well because this forum is my home :) and it gets more traffic.

I got my M2E and I gotta say even without heavy testing it's head and shoulders above the original M2! Proper backfocus is almost worth the price of admission alone. Edge to edge sharpness is drastically increased from when I was using the old m2.
But without further ado here's the unboxing!

I want to test this as throughly as possible and I've got access to pretty much ever sub 10K camera on market right now through my work, so I'm putting it out there to you guys to tell me what you'd like me to test and what you'd like to see. Next week I'm gonna post my big review and so far I'm looking at making these the main sections:
Build Quality
Setup
Backfocus
Edge to Edge Sharpness
Vignetting
So far I'm gonna shoot on the Canon XH-A1, HVX200, HF S10, and HMC150. Soon after that I'll go on to test the EX1 and other Sonys. If you guys think I've got it in the wrong order and you want something before some thing else let me know.

Be as clear as possible in what you want to see and I'll make it happen.

Please shoot your tests with the Sony EX1 first as it seems to be the camera that causes the most trouble for adapters. I am looking at getting a new M2e package and need to see samples that RedRock has trurely solved the issues with the EX1 such as poor edge to edge and vignetting, that plague many 35 mm adapters on the EX1. Thanks very much.

kind regards,

adapter porn..... i love it.

BTW, here's a grab from my EX1/M2e rig. I would say edge to edge focus and vignetting (or lack of) are top notch.

How exciting, so cool. I think you should test it on EX1/EX3 a.s.a.p and HPX 170,
EX series users need other options relating E2E than just LEX and Blade.
Enjoy your xmas time!

Those charts look pretty sharp. I saw the ex and M2e at the NAB, but it looked soft, i think it had not been aligned properly, is it difficult or time consuming to align and adjust back focus? Ist heavy on the front end? Oh, i'm sorry but i couldn't get your video to play when i downloaded it. Post some screen grabs for us EX series users please!
Cheers

actually alignment with the m2e is pretty simple. there isn't a whole lot of room to adjust left/right/up/down. i was never able to get my flip centered on the ex1. i just zoom past the matte and go. my useable zoom range on the ex1 is between 40mm and full tele.

maybe the back focus was off on the NAB rig. or maybe it was the lens. as i recall they had a zoom of some sort on it. when i played with that rig i was very impressed. so much so that i threw down my credit card on the spot and walked out with it.

are you talking about the video i just posted? it is QT h.264. it should play fine in quicktime as long as you are up to date. i will post a grab underneith just in case.

Ecking, any update on the adapter? footage? dying to find out your thoughts on it. i placed an order for the blade for the end of june shipping slot and while i was ordering i realized their credit card system was down and i needed to do a bank transfer. did not have time to do that so i lost my slot. the new shipping slot is not going to work because i have a shoot first week of july so i think im just going to order the redrock. man but i really wanted the blade.

Thanks
