So,
As some of y'all may have read, NVIDIA and EVGA are putting out the GTX 285 for the Mac. I'm kind of exciting about this as a gamer, but I also want to be hopeful about it as a post artist.
My knowledge of the software is pretty decent, but I have to confess when it comes down to the software interacting with the hardware it gets a little more than fuzzy for me.
Will a card like the GTX 285 significantly improve performance in a program like After Effects? For example would it turn something like Particular from a rendering nightmare into a rendering unpleasant dream? Would it decrease RAM preview time?
I'm not really sure what cards are available out there that really boost AE performance, let alone for under $1500.
Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Google just gives me information about gaming.
