15mm is closest to about ~5/8", so .60 would be just a touch less than 5/*" or .635"

any idea how much they weigh since they are solid core?

they would work of you are making your own .and build everything to attach to them. --- .60 inch would be right at 15.5mm. Half a millimeter would exceed what most system have built in for plus side tolerances.
