Hi! I'm trying something new. I want to try to connect one more screen to my sony pmw-ex1 with a splitter or with a switch. I'm building a shoulder rig for my ex1 with 35mm adapter and need a lcd screen to see what i'm shooting (because the ex1 is on my shoulder, and I can't see the screen). Therefore the idea is to mount one more ex1 lcd screen though the camcorders lcd screen cable and place it on the 35 mm adapter.
Any idea about the price of a ex1 screen and where to buy?

Why donīt you just get an lcd monitor? Do you think that buying a 2nd ex1 screen and playing with your camera is going to end up being cheaper? Because you wont save any money.

do you mean by using the ribbon cable from the onboard lcd?
i have no idea but if you figure this out, you are my hero. i want this for the same reason and using the lcd connector rather than SDI or component would give you peaking. huge plus.
i doubt you could run a splitter but i bet you could disconnect the onboard fairly easily and just plug in the new one. you would probably have to extend the cable somehow.

I found the lcd price on sony's site and its pretty good. About $475 for just the lcd screen. I think I'm going to buy this with the cover and mount it to my adapter or rails. Its very light, so there should not be a problem. As said, the cable from the lcd screen just needs to be extended. Sony's lcd is very good, better than many other screens out there - and much cheaper!
I'll ask some people in the sony repair center and post when I find some info!

please keep us posted. this may be a cool solution. you're right, the sony lcd is great. much sharper than my marshall. if it could be mounted out front for shoulder use it would be perfect. plus, no extra batteries to power it...
