Hey I was wondering if anyone could fill me in on some things. I just ordered an M2e and I want to use a Kelly wheel or DOF calculator to determine my near and far limits of acceptable focus so that I can pull focus off of walls and know my limits on my steady cam focus range while moving. My question is what do you use since the focus is no longer purely high def yet it's not truly 35mm either? Is it possible to trust any DoF guides?

Yes it is possible to trust the guides, but what i find that works great is the itouch/ iphone app isee4K.

Its great for these sorts of things :D

why wouldn't it be true 35mm? depending on your zoom level, you can achieve anything from full frame 35mm to cine 35mm. besides, that would only affect your FOV, not your DOF.

i also use "isee4k" on my iphone. simple app and works wonders.
