Ok I dont know what to search for so If i missed this topic im sorry.

I want to use the pentool to write a simple path of 3 dots on a object. The object curves itself more to the end of the clip. So i want to animate the path i just painted with the pentool. I only need to set different keyframes at the end of animation. Then i want to use an image of an ai picture of an arrow to follow and bend like the curv does. You know like text do on the path. Is this possible or do i have to warp and go more advanced?

The problem is that when i paint the path the dots don't seams to be keyframeable??

If you create a path with the pen tool as a mask you can keyframe mask shape to change the paths shape.

The problem is i cant se any transform on the mask dropdown list. Mask path, feather, opacity, expansion. You mean to put it on a own transparent layer and move that layer? But I whish to keyframe each of the 3 "dots" i painted with the paint tool on its own.

I could do this with the puppet tool but I don't see any reason why i cant use the paint tool to paint a path. So if you would like to put text on a moving object thats deforming. This could be really handy. If you make gearwheels in with alpha channel. Can you animate one and "hook" up more wheels that pic up this motion? or do you have to parent motions. Little bit like dynamic in a way..

There isn't a transform for the mask points, you have set a keyframe on the Mask Shape property then move the playhead, move the mask points in the comp window and a new keyframe will be automatically created. Hit 0 to RAM preview and the points (mask shape) will interpolate between those two settings.

If that doesn't help, maybe you should give a more detailed explanation of what you're doing.

I don't know what was up yeserday since it did not animate even thoe i selected the "watch". I thougt it was that I did not close the shape (just painted a wavy line). But now it works proper.

Still do you know if you can add an object to follow the path like the text do?

thanxx

In this case i whant an arrow to follow a path and when its hits the corner of the path it should bend.

copy the path and paste it to the position of the arrow. this will create a start and end keyframe and a bunch of roving keyframes in between. drag the end keyframe til you get your timing right. then set your arrow to orient to path so it follows the path if thats what you mean by bend.
