Hey Ex1users,
Just recently i purchased the 16x9 super fisheye attachment for my sony ex1 and i am having a great deal of trouble getting a focused image. I have attached the lens using a 77-72mm step down ring which allows the lens to mount properly.
The picture is almost in focus but not sharp?
I have tried macro and all focus options.
can anyone help me out?
whats the deal with this one?
cheers,

is your fisheye made for the ex1? the only two i have found are the century optics ones. the wide one is like $2500. is this the one you have?
He said its a 16x9 fisheye. In this instance thats not a frame standard but a company.
Don't have the 16x9 I have the century .6x. So not sure if this works but this is what I do for my century.
Push focus ring forward to auto
turn on macro
switch focus to auto. Once auto focused switch to manual.

ya i'm hip to the 16x9 brand. this is why i asked if his adapter was made for the ex1. because looking at their site, they don't make a fisheye for the ex1, only a wide angle. this may be the problem....
16x9 make an extreme fisheye but it needs the step ring to use on the EX1, which he said he has.

Thanks guys for the feedback,
shouldn't the camera still focus the lens even if it wasn't made for it? if thats the case?
yeah i stepped it down, but i've done so with other lenses and it still worked.
can't seem to figure it out, i'll try mico's way....

This isn't my way. If you google your problem you will see that thats the way u get focus with these single element lenses. century gave me instructions.

16x9 specifies which cams their lenses work with. there is not a single fisheye they make that is certified for use with ex1. the ex1 is a 1/2" chip cam and has a track record of not working well with some lenses and diopters made for 1/3" cams. so that is probably why you are having trouble. maybe there is a way to get it to work somehow but it will probably not be ideal.
