Can someone point me towards a tutorial for something similar to the red glow effects in the Last Dragon?

Add a New Solid, turn it invisable, and mask your hand/object/whatever.
Keep that first mask as Add
Then expand the mask by like 9pixels or whatever will suit your needs.
Then duplicate the mask in the same layer, and set to subtract.
Add a blur and or a glow, or trapcode shine and play around till you have something you want.
Mask out the arm part so instead of a glowing circle, it looks like just the sides are glowing.

That will get the hands glowing, but what about for the punches? Did you notice the shadows that appear during each punch?

Just make a mask on a black solid in the shape you think the shadow would be cast. Also, don't have it as dark as they do, maybe have it at 90% visable or less.

Ok, thanks. It looks old school, but I still like it.

Also it looks like they use the same element for the punch flashes.
I would say make a skinny diamond shaped mask with a bit of a feather and glow. Aanimate it expanding, then douplicate and rotate it and add some glow/bounce to the actors.
