Hello guys. A while ago someone posted a link to a guy who sells wheel sets and everything needed and you just add the wood to make a PVC rail type dolly. I searched through so many threads and I could not find it. I think it used rollerblade wheels... but I am not sure. And I think it was a bit over priced in some people's opinions. I think I would just rather have the wheel fixtures set up aready though so all I have to do is drill them into the wood. So does anybody have any idea what I am talking about? It was not a large business or even a site that would show up in google ( I have been looking, but I have no name). Anyways, looked like a one man operation.

Please help me if you know.

Thanks.

if you can't find it search it on ebay.
I remember seeing some there. they look like the skatebord wheels and they only sell the wheels so you can make your own dolly like you said.

btw, I made a dolly out of these wheels.
I found them at my dad's company, but if you're interested I can try to see if there's more!

Hmmm. Thanks guys. I still can't seem to find it but now I think I like those glideshot wheels a lot better.

Question - What is the best thing to use for a seat on a wood platform dolly? I don't want to lug around a stool or anything. I could probably rig something really nice. but I need something to start with. A really small seat suspended by one pole. Idk... I have been thinking about bicycle seats too. Might work very well. If I can find a big wide one.

How about this:

or this:

problem is that since the platform is at ground level, you'll need a high stool as the camera will probably be up to 5+ feet off the ground.

A drum throne would probably work. It has a simpler base, so may be easier to rig up. There are some cheap versions on ebay.

The drum seat sounds good. There's also things like this -

Bicycle seats come in Xtra wide, but somehow balancing on a stick while filming on a rolling platform conjures forth a pretty funny visual. Be sure to have the B cam hot. :Drogar-Happy(DBG):

Lets be safe out there.

RVVAC - These wheels look like composition vbelt drive pulleys - very cool. Light, simple, Very well done. I'm liking your dolly a lot.

I'm thinking the T arm could also be hinged with a stop so it could fold for transport?

Do you have sourcing for more of these pulley/wheels??

Here's a link:

The kits from Neil are posted to ship in June. If you can't wait till then, here's a UT tutorial. I've seen others, but his shop techniques are complete enough for a beginner to follow: http://video.thedvshow.com/video/DJTV-Build-Your-Own-Dolly

and he has a great idea for cheap wheels.
