I read the white paper or whatever about exporting as 24p mpeg for dvd architect, and it seemd to do the trick, except the mainconcept encoder I am not happy with. So I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on how to properly render my vegas project so that I can encode it later with CCE ( a far better encoder). currently the only thing I know to do is render uncompressed then encode with cce. even then I dont know if the pulldown crap is done correctly or not...

Render as AVI, DV with 2-3 pulldown.

I'm trying to skip any compressions including dv. can i render uncompressed with 2-3-3-2 pulldown?
Use the YUV 4:2:2 or uncompressed. If you use a DV based compression, at the end of the day you essentially have a 4:1:0 encode. Unless you started with PAL, of course.

i got some sata 74gb drives specifically for this task, appears to be workable, but I'm wondering if theres something I need to know as far as the 2-3-3-2 pulldown is concerned? I started a 24p project... is it okay to simply render to uncompressed avi?

You’re good to do as Spot said above.
But remember, unless you’re planning to edit the footage later, or to have someone else edit it, you don’t want to render out at 2:3:3:2, you want 2:3. The advanced pulldown is only for use in NLEs. Use the standard pulldown for things like DVDs.
