Aperature trick problem

Hi,
Got the 50mm f1.8 II on the 5DII, doing some practice shoots.
I tried the aperture lock/lens turn trick (DOP then turning the lens until the camera loses communication with the lens), but I noticed that the video clips are choppy. (It loses a couple of frames every second, at least).

I have no idea why this is happening, has anyone experienced a similar problem?

Could be for a few reasons. The one I am betting on is that you didn't twist off the lens enough and the communication is getting confused. Other things to make sure of is:

Make sure your LCD brightness is set to manual not automatic
Make sure your exposure is locked
