I have been searching, and still am, so no smart arse linking me to Google please.
I'd really appreciate if if someone could share a link to a good tutorial on using Twixtor Pro 4.5
My project specifics: I have some 59.94 footage that I'd like to add some ramps to and output as 23.976. I think I figured out everything other than how to make it 23.976.
It would be cool if it also gave some tips as to what the best settings might be for the motion blur and other fancy options within Twixtor.
Thank you for the help!

Drop your 59.94 comp with your ramps into a 23.976 comp, AE automatically converts it to that framerate unless you have "preserve nested" framerate option on, which I think is in the Advanced Comp options.

I found that it really depends on your source material as to what Twixtor settings are best to use. Sometimes the Nearest method at 70% works, or sometimes the Motion weighted Blend at 100% works the best. Sometimes the Blend method.... You get the point. It was trial and error for me.
If you're doing a ramp, I would suggest using the Keyframe method, then you can specify exactly which frame goes where, and you can make the ramp exponential.

Latin, why do you even want to play with Twixtor? Their big claim to fame was before AE had any sort of Pixel motion, and with 60p footage, slowing WAYYYY down into a 34p comp should be an absolute breeze.
I have seen some absolutely STUNNING slowdown work directly out of AE. Instead of looking for Twixtor tutorials, look for tutorials on doing your slowdown in AE exactly as you described. I take it you are using the HVX? There has GOT to be people who want to do or have done exactly that with exactly that camera.
If you need, kick me some half rez files and I'll make a project file and send it to you.

Hey thanks guys, I'll keep this up while I mess with it a bit today.
Oneinfinite, ok, I thought that might be the answer bit I wasn't sure if I was blindly missing something within Twixtor. Thanks. Where do I set the frame rate for the comp again?
Yeehaanow, I was afraid that might be the case also. Why are the settings there otherwise. :)
Matt, really? So CS3 would do the same or would I need CS4? I was hoping to speed the action up a bit in one spot, then real time up to the end where it could use some slow motion. Yes, it is from my trusty HVX-200, shot by mistake in 59.94 but it could help me out now to get better timing out of the shot.
It is only 720p, but no need for the trouble Matt. This is just a test I shot myself, and I would't say it is worth the effort. Let me show you the project first anyway.

Cs3 was the first version to have Pixel Motion, so that will work fine. 60p was a very fortunate "mistake" in this case, since even playing it in a 24p comp gives you about 40% speed simply with all the extra frames. And since that was prolly shot with a higher shutter speed, that makes pristine slow mo all the easier.
It wouldn't be any trouble at all. It might be rather fun to see how slow we can get it. And I'm wondering if the Force Motion Blur filter would be handy for the sped up parts to make it feel even more like a 24p shoot. Hmmm.

Yea, I was thinking the same, while it was a PITA to have messed it up at least it is 60p so I get to manipulate its timing. I think the shutter was 180 though so it would be 1/120th right?
Anyway, I just rendered the full thing uncompressed at 59.96 and the 900 frames weigh in at 3.1GB... this is going to suck cause I only have 2.7GB available in XP-32... ugh...
How do I set the project to be a 23.976 timeline? I can't find the option in the project settings.

Found the place to change the frame rate! I should use the AE help a little more :D
It was in Composition settings not in Project Settings hehe...
