Hi all, my apology if this was explained before...

I have a bunch of clips taken at the same location during a (short) day, with white balance preset to 5600K. Sun was up and down, behind the clouds and out of clouds. Every clip has a different color cast to it.

What's the best way in Vegas to arrange the clips for color correction? I am guessing it will have something to do with layers and different opacity levels, but rather than trial and error, I'd like to know if someone has a 'cookbook' on how to approach it.

Thanks,

Jerry

Pick one as your master, and tweak the rest using split-screen preview to compare.

Thanks. I am still a bit ignorant with Vegas - how do I 'pick one as the master'?

Never mind - I just found it. Just copy a snapshot to a clipboard from the preview window, and the use a split screen preview.

Thanks for the tip!

Also, if you shoot each scene with a few seconds of a color chart in front of the camera you can match the clips perfectly every time. It's quite often as easy as setting the white black and grey points from the chart.
