Well, that's hard to say. But a dual-processor setup will give you a marked improvement . . . and you should beef up your memory and also further optimize your system (dedicated data drive, etc..)

I would have 1.5 gig of ram and a sata drive for rendering and another one for storage.

You'll be in good shape with that. You'll notice a difference. How much, I can't say.
