Does the zoom break if I dont switch to manual zoom?

If I forget, or what I think about are people I might rent the HVX200 to, to switch the automitic zoom to manual and pull the zoom manually, does it break? Any experiences with that?

I think if you were to put enough force on it, it would break.

But every once in a while, I'll forget to switch to manual and I'll turn it a little bit and then realize. It's not the best for it, but it's not going to break it if it's only moved a little bit, and it's really easy to tell that you need to switch it over. You might have to worry about someone thinking that there is something wrong with it and forcing it.

What happens, if turned too quickly the motor may burn out and/or the gear attached to the motor gets stripped out.

Either way, it's not a good idea if it can at all be helped.
