HI all

I have an Item or two I wanted to throw out here to test the interest-level, waters. PIctures will be coming. im not looking at becoming a millionaire here. It is just something I had made for my own use, that I think could benefit a bunch of people. We have the ability to make a dozen or so at a time.

1. Would anyone be interested in a Light and Mic boom pole mount that:

Will hold any sized pole from 1/2 inch to almost 3 inches in Diameter

Has it's own tilt mount

Can be mounted to any 5/8ths diameter light stand/stud OR, comes in a 5/8ths stud mount for putting in your own Knuckle or receptical

It will outperform the weight specs of any light stand it is mounted to. I have had 5 pound frezzi's on mine, hanging out 8 feet from the C-Stand, without a counter ballance. (In fact, I stuck an entire Avenger series C-Stand into it using the base as a counter weight, and extended the stand out to full with a 5 pound light.

Will lock in any pole to keep it from turning/rotating, yet, the pole can be dismounted in seconds.

Because it will keep the pole from rotating, you can hang a light so it sticks out from the the extended pole horizontally.

Im sorry I dont have pics yet. We are refining the design a little. I have been using two of these that I had my neighbor, a veteran Navy welder of 40 years, make up for me based on my own needs/design. I Kept bragging how well it worked to him for the past several months. I have tortured this thing and it has taken everything I have done to it withought signs of stress.

He is slow on work right now and took it upon himself to make a Jig, so he can crank several of these out at a time. H asked if I would be interested in putting these up for sale for him. He is not computer literate. It is really cool and has replaced a ton of gear I normally carry on my production cart. Knuckles, dedicated light booms, some of the smaller counter weights, Backdrop Hangers. Now I just carry C-stands, some light weight stands, some clamps and several of these. I can use the C Stand poles for more than just a stand. Hell, I have even mounted up mic stands on these, base and all, using their own booms as an extension. I dont have to worry about gravity rotating the mic stand downward towards the ground, This holds it well. It wieghs about 4 pounds and is currently all steel and Iron construction.

Prices are unknown. B&H has some boom pole mounts that are only made for Mic Booms that run anywhere from 35 bucks to 100. They dont compare to the construction and performance these offer. Not to mention, they will not hold a light boom nor keep it from slipping or rotating. They are dependent solely on gravity to keep your boom in the saddle.

Let me know, I will post some pics as soon as I paint up the new version I have, to make it presentable here. The only mod we made from the one's I have been using for the past several months, was to make it usable for anything from 1/2 inch Diameter, up to 2 and 3/4's. The versions I had made for myself only went down to 1 inch diameter.

I have one other Item I will get into another time. It is essentially a foot that will allow you to sandbag/ground stake, any Tri-Pod style light stand that would normally make the sandbag slide down the legs due to the angle of the legs. They will also allow you to make a weak, light weight light stand that take a little more weight without flexing. You also dont have to worry about crushing/bending the aluminum legs from setting sandbags on them. Therefore making their life expectancy grow by light years. :-)

Sorry it is taking so long, they are coming. Because these are all Iron and steel in construction, they are Butt-Ugly until I get a coat of paint on them. I hope to get some done this weekend, and will post them.

It is planting season for the farms up here in NE Ohio. My neighbor, who is making these up, just got buried with every type of broken plough, and tractor equipment imaginable. Typical for the beginning of the season. All this stuff sits all winter in the brittle cold, if it is going to break or is on the verge of needing mending, now is the time.

I appreciate you expressing your interest.
